Prof. Gerry Bodeker

Gerry Bodeker is one of the world's leading experts in wellness, healthy ageing, integrative health and public health policy. An Australian researcher whose doctoral studies were completed at Harvard University, he has held academic appointments at Oxford University, Columbia University, King's College London and Western Sydney University.
For more than three decades, Gerry has worked at the intersection of traditional wisdom, modern science and public health, researching the role of lifestyle, wellbeing and medicinal plants in supporting healthier, longer lives. His expertise has seen him advise organisations including the World Health Organization, World Bank, United Nations Development Programme, UN Environment Programme and UN Food & Agriculture Organization.
A recognised thought leader in global wellness, Gerry has advised governments, wellness destinations and health organisations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States. His work has been featured by Forbes, Travel + Leisure, National Geographic, CNN and the BBC, helping shape conversations around the future of health, wellbeing and longevity.
Gerry is the Founding Chair of the Mental Wellness Initiative at the Global Wellness Institute and Co-Chair of its Microplastics Watch Initiative, exploring one of the most significant emerging threats to human health. He is also the recipient of the Global Wellness Institute's prestigious Debra Simon Award for Leadership in Furthering Mental Wellness.
Through his research, writing and global advisory work, Gerry continues to champion a vision of health that integrates prevention, wellbeing, longevity and environmental stewardship.
